Vacancy: Research Assistant based in Birmingham and Solihull NHS Foundation Trust

Please note that the successful applicant will be employed by King’s College London but will be based in Birmingham and Solihull NHS Foundation Trust.

The recruiters are looking to appoint a self-motivated Research Assistant covering recruitment in the West Midlands (based in Birmingham and Solihull NHS Foundation Trust) for the NIHR funded ADAM trial (Alcohol Dependence and Adherence to Medications), led by Professor Colin Drummond. ADAM is a 3-arm, multi-centre, randomised controlled clinical trial of the efficacy of medication management and contingency management interventions to support adherence to acamprosate for alcohol relapse prevention. The successful applicant will join a team of Research Assistants based across the sites where recruitment is taking place. The post holder will work alongside a team of research assistants already in post nationally, the Trial Manager and the site Principal Investigator (Dr Ed Day) on all aspects of the ADAM trial, primarily including participant recruitment and organising follow-up appointments across the West Midlands, data collection, data analyses, dissemination, assisting with literature reviewing and preparation of ethics and governance documents.

The successful applicant will hold good degree in a relevant health and/or psychology based subject. They will be enthusiastic with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. Previous experience working with those with problem drug or alcohol use would be desirable.

:calendar: This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract until the 28th February 2020

This is a full-time post - 100% full time equivalent
